Clean up large spent garden material such as corn stalks.
Unless plants have disease you can leave faded perennial growth
and clean it in the spring, the stems will collect leaves protecting the
roots and crown over the winter.
Wait until March to prune frost sensitive plants such as fuchsia,
bougainvillea and tropical hibiscus
Planting trees and shrubs now will allow them to establish
over the winter ready for new growth in spring.
